Professor Vincent Ho is a distinguished expert with over 40 years of experience in the transportation, nuclear, and defence industries. His expertise includes risk management, safety, and various engineering disciplines such as probabilistic risk assessment, fire risk assessment, system safety, security analysis, and occupational safety and health. Additionally,

he is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion within professional institutions in Hong Kong.


Professor Ho has held significant positions, including the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Risk Management and Safety and the 52nd President of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest health and safety-chartered institution headquartered in the UK. He holds four degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has conducted research in diverse fields such as fire risk assessment in nuclear power plants, magneto-hydrodynamic power generation, microgravity fire growth, inherently safe fast reactors, artificial intelligence,

and dynamic human action analysis.


Currently, Professor Ho is a Professor of Practice at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and holds adjunct professorship appointments at renowned institutions including the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the University of

Hong Kong, and the City University of Hong Kong. His expertise in engineering and safety is widely recognized.
